About This Role

Job Overview
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Cluster Arabic and Islamic Lead to join GEMS Education schools in the UAE. The successful applicant will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of Arabic and Islamic education throughout the cluster by developing, implementing, and assessing specific action plans that align with the cluster’s strategic objectives, aimed at enhancing student performance and experiences within the Arabic and Islamic classrooms. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, motivated by challenges, and possess a proven history of exceptional practice. As the Cluster Lead for Arabic and Islamic, you will collaborate closely with Heads of Department to establish a vision and direction for Arabic and Islamic education, with a strong emphasis on student achievement and progress.

Key Responsibilities:
• Foster advancements in teaching, learning, assessment, and curriculum development based on best practices.
• Create, support, and oversee the execution of action plans at both the cluster level and individual school level.
• Design and provide professional development opportunities aimed at improving teaching and learning practices, as well as coach and monitor the application of the introduced strategies and methodologies.
• Work in partnership with other school departments to ensure that practices within the Arabic and Islamic departments are aligned with best practices across the school.
• Ensure the implementation of robust assessment methods and effective utilization of data in Arabic and Islamic education.
• Guarantee that the team follows effective documentation and evidence-gathering processes.
• Assist school leadership in conducting performance evaluations for teachers and heads of departments.
• Aid school leadership in preparing for inspections, including SEF writing and conducting mock inspections.
• Develop strategies to boost parental engagement throughout the cluster.
• Ensure that schools effectively identify and adopt suitable digital tools and platforms.
• Ensure compliance of schools regarding teacher recruitment, curriculum, and related areas.
• Assist in the recruitment of teachers through interviews and demonstration lessons as required.

Job Requirements
1. A Bachelor’s degree in Arabic Language, Islamic Studies, or Education; a Master’s degree in Education is preferred.
2. A minimum of 5 years of relevant leadership experience (such as head of department or pedagogy coach, or equivalent).
3. At least 3 years of teaching experience.
4. Experience in providing training and coaching support to teams.
5. A proven track record of positively impacting Arabic and/or Islamic education improvement in a school setting.
6. Experience as a member of a senior leadership team is desirable.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
*Estimated range based on regional data averages.
