About York House School

York House School was established in 1932 at the intersection of Granville and 28th, where seven visionary women welcomed 17 students to the inaugural school. Almost a century later, thousands have embarked on their unique journeys at YHS, which has grown into one of Canada’s leading independent schools for girls. Presently, we serve approximately 700 students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 12. At York House School, we have a clear Vision: to perceive the world as it is while envisioning its possibilities, creating transformative experiences for students empowered to shape the future.
