About This Role

ADNOC Schools is on the lookout for an Assistant Vice Principal (Teaching & Learning) to become part of our expanding network of schools in the UAE. This position is available at ADNOC School, Ruwais Campus, situated in the Al Dhafra region of Abu Dhabi, with a start date in August 2025.

Our schools follow the esteemed US Massachusetts/Common Core curriculum and currently serve 1,110 students at the Ruwais Campus.

Ideal candidates will have a proven history of effective leadership, gained in the UK, USA, or other international environments, along with strong interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity. The ability to address the diverse needs of stakeholders—from board members to parents, teachers, and principals—is essential. Outstanding communication abilities, coupled with a presence as a visible leader and advocate for the school, are crucial for success in this role.

This position necessitates high-level strategic thinking aligned with a solid understanding of how to achieve exceptional educational outcomes across the institution. Candidates should be dedicated to collaborating with other schools within the group and finding ways to engage with strategic partners to support the school's mission, the overarching goals of the group, and the broader educational vision of the UAE.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Assist in the development and execution of the school's vision and strategic direction.
- Establish a clear vision and action plan for assigned responsibilities as designated by the principal.
- Ensure a significant and sustained measurable impact in the areas of responsibility.
- Positively influence the quality of teaching and learning through strategic initiatives.
- Promote a unique community ethos that values inclusivity, applying appropriate values, attitudes, and practices in all school activities.
- Help create and sustain an environment and code of conduct that fosters outstanding teaching, effective learning, and high standards of behavior and achievement.
- Oversee designated areas to enhance students’ knowledge, skills, and abilities, ensuring excellent progress.
- Build and maintain an effective partnership with parents to support student achievement and personal growth.
- Establish effective connections with the wider community, including local and national partnerships, to enrich the curriculum and enhance learning opportunities.
- Ensure that students acquire skills that encourage them to become independent and inquisitive learners.
- Lead by example, demonstrating integrity and respect in all leadership aspects while upholding the school’s policies, practices, and ethos.
- Cultivate positive relationships and attitudes to inspire and motivate others.
- Demonstrate an understanding of, and operate within, the statutory frameworks outlining professional duties and responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications

Essential
- Bachelor’s degree in education or a BA Degree with PGCE or an equivalent teaching qualification.

Desirable
- Master’s degree in Education.
- Leadership/Management experience.
- Administrative/Leadership certification.

Minimum Experience
- 6 years of experience, including a minimum of 4 consecutive years of teaching performance that exceeds standards and expectations, as evidenced by Performance Appraisal.
