About This Role
GIS is in search of an outstanding leader to create a dynamic, impactful, and sustainable co-curricular program that enriches the experiences of all students at GIS.
The Head of Co-Curricular Activities will take charge of leading and ensuring excellence in the execution of our co-curricular initiatives, all while remaining aligned with our vision, mission, and values. This role requires building strong relationships within the school community and with external partners to broaden our offerings for students.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Head of Co-Curricular Activities will:

Craft and implement an inspiring strategic vision for a high-quality co-curricular program.
•
Develop a comprehensive and diverse program of extracurricular activities across various disciplines that provides inclusive and enriching learning experiences for students.
•
Oversee the scheduling and staffing of the co-curricular programs.
•
Establish a calendar for program scheduling to ensure effective coordination across the school.
•
Administer and supervise the daily operations and activities of programs and facilities.
•
Handle co-curricular budgets in all areas and collaborate with the finance and purchasing team during this process.
•
Lead the budget preparation to guarantee that the programs are adequately supported and resourced.
•
Create opportunities for all staff to positively impact the broader life of the school.
•
Evaluate provisions to ensure that the program meets the needs of all students, reflecting the school’s commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging.
•
Oversee the recruitment of external providers involved in delivering the co-curricular program.
•
Establish a strong and effective communication process with parents, students, and staff.
•
Ensure adherence to safeguarding procedures and conduct risk assessments to maintain appropriate care for all students.
•
Develop, update, and refine rules, regulations, policies, and procedures related to the daily operations of co-curricular activities.
•
Ensure that all vendors comply with the school's safeguarding policies and protocols.
•
Be adept in utilizing the management system for delivering the co-curricular program.
•
Monitor and assess co-curricular activities to ensure high-quality provision.
•
Engage in collaborative evaluative practices to foster shared insights.
•
Organize relevant professional development for staff within the co-curricular program to enhance their skills further.
•
Manage and review the appraisal processes, leave, and logistics for the CCA team.
•
Acknowledge, celebrate, and communicate students’ personal achievements in co-curricular activities linked to the GIS Learner Skills.
•
Actively participate in building networks and partnerships with associations and organizations.
•
Perform additional duties as necessary to support school objectives.
•
Promote and showcase the CCAs through parent presentations, community workshops, and public engagement to enhance participation, understanding, and support for the school’s broader learning opportunities.
