Crofton House School is on the lookout for a seasoned elementary educator to teach French as an additional language. French instruction occurs in the Junior School for Grades 1-7, with this role focusing specifically on Grades 5-7. You will collaborate with a team of educators dedicated to the positive development of young girls in the Junior School. Responsibilities:
•
Create a welcoming and nurturing environment for young learners
•
Teach French as an additional language in the Junior School, concentrating on Grades 5, 6, and 7, by establishing engaging and interactive classes
•
Incorporate French culture into lesson plans
•
Ensure continuity in language learning competencies across the Junior School through collaboration with colleagues
•
Work with all Junior School educators to meet students' needs
•
Differentiate expectations for language learners
•
Utilize instructional technology to support and enhance learning
•
Implement the BC Curriculum for French as a second language, emphasizing the Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling approach
•
Participate in the Junior School’s co-curricular programs
Requirements/Qualifications:
•
Native-like proficiency in French (both spoken and written)
•
Familiarity with TPRS is an asset
•
B.C. Ministry of Education Certificate or Independent School Certification
•
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
•
Ability to support diverse learning styles at the elementary level
•
Collaborative, energetic, and passionate about teaching
•
Strong written and verbal communication skills
•
Demonstrated innovation, flexibility, and organizational skills with attention to detail
•
Enthusiasm, commitment, and willingness to engage in co-curricular programs and the diverse life of the school community
Employment and Application Details:
Classes commence in September 2026, following teacher orientation in late August 2026.

Compensation: $69,541-$123,242 based on experience and education.
