About the role
The British International School of Kuala Lumpur is looking for an innovative, open-minded, and professional University and Careers Counsellor to join our esteemed international school for an initial contract period of two years. The University and Careers Counsellor will assist students with all facets of the university application journey and careers education, ensuring they are well-prepared and informed for their next academic and professional endeavors. A collaborative spirit and the ability to work closely with colleagues, students, and parents are crucial for this role.
The ideal candidate should possess significant knowledge, experience, and expertise in guiding students through the university application processes for the UK and the USA; thus, current and prior experience with successful applications to these regions is essential. Familiarity with university applications in Asia and Australia would be advantageous. Additionally, candidates should exhibit strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, enabling them to effectively cater to a diverse student population.
Candidates should also demonstrate a commitment to helping students reach their fullest potential as part of a team, a proactive approach to pastoral care and student wellbeing, and a willingness to enhance the vibrant extracurricular life at our school.

About you
With the ability to foster a classroom culture free from limits on achievement, you will hold a university degree in your specialty, a teaching qualification, and substantial teaching experience with a thorough understanding of the curriculum. Open to feedback and eager to embrace change, you will be enthusiastic about sharing best practices with colleagues and peers.
As a strong representative of the school, you will develop innovative ways to engage students and parents in the broader school and Nord Anglia Education community. Your high level of motivation and communication skills will help generate excitement and personal investment within the classroom. You will also meet the visa requirements for Malaysia.

Selection Process
