About This Role
Secondary Physics Teacher (m/f/d)
St. George’s School is on the lookout for a well-qualified Physics Teacher to join our secondary education team, starting in August 2026.
The School
For over 20 years, St. George’s School has been dedicated to serving the international community in Duisburg-Düsseldorf. Our institution blends a rich curriculum with a family-oriented environment. From its humble beginnings, the school has blossomed into a vibrant community of around 650 students, aged 2-18, representing a diverse array of nationalities.
We implement the National Curriculum across the school and offer the IB Diploma in our Sixth Form.
As part of a network of three schools throughout Germany, St. George’s provides the successful candidate with a wealth of opportunities for professional development and advancement within the school group.
The Location
Situated on a newly constructed campus in Germany’s Rhine-Ruhr region, St. George’s School benefits from excellent transport connections to both Düsseldorf and Duisburg, as well as to the broader Rhine-Ruhr area.
Düsseldorf, Germany’s sixth largest city, is a lively cultural hub with a substantial and diverse international population. Located in the heart of Europe, it boasts a high quality of life and a multitude of travel and cultural exploration opportunities.
The school is just 15km from Düsseldorf airport, which offers numerous daily flights to the UK, while high-speed rail links connect Düsseldorf to various European destinations.
The Role
We are looking to hire a qualified Physics Teacher to join our secondary teaching team. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching iGCSE and IBDP.
We seek a vibrant educator who has a proven track record of helping students reach their full potential. The ideal applicant will strike a balance between experience, enthusiasm, and a passion for teaching that inspires our students.
The secondary department serves students aged 11-18 and encompasses the Key Stage 3, IGCSE, and IB Diploma curricula. Familiarity with the British education system is essential, while prior experience in IB teaching is preferred but not mandatory.
Given the evolving nature of our school, adaptability and a willingness to support fellow team members are essential. A strong commitment to enriching the pastoral and extra-curricular life of the school will also be beneficial.
For comprehensive information, please download our application pack.
Only applications submitted through the TES online portal will be accepted.
To complete your application, please upload the following documents to your Schrole profile:
• A copy of all your degree certificates and corresponding academic transcripts
• A copy of your teaching qualification
All candidates must possess a valid teaching qualification. We recognize degrees in education (e.g., B.Ed./M.Ed./Lehramt) or postgraduate teaching certificates (e.g., PGCE) as valid. English language teaching certificates (e.g., TEFL/IELTS/CELTA) are not acceptable.
The deadline for applications is Sunday, April 12, 2026. The school reserves the right to reach out to exceptional candidates prior to this date.
St. George’s is committed to the safeguarding and welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to enhanced background checks.
In compliance with the new EU General Data Protection Regulation, we are required to inform you about how the school, as a prospective employer, processes your data. This information can be found here.
