About This Role

Job Overview: Established in 2015, Anne Hill International provides international education for students aged 2-13 and is preparing to launch its secondary school campus soon. Our mission centers on delivering affordable, high-quality international education, while our vision emphasizes nurturing well-rounded, globally minded, lifelong learners.

Currently, our school serves around 350 students from 30 different countries, supported by a dedicated team of 30 teachers from diverse backgrounds.

The new secondary school campus is set to open in August 2026, introducing a curriculum based on the International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC) and Cambridge Lower Secondary, ultimately leading to the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE). We are proud members of the Council of International Schools (CIS).

Role Responsibilities

We are seeking a Teacher of Mandarin (Primary and Secondary) with the capability to initiate and develop programs in a growing educational environment.

All educators are expected to engage in the pastoral/homeroom curriculum as well as contribute to the after-school activities program.

Duties & Responsibilities

Subject Teachers hold the responsibility for the academic achievement and pastoral care of their students, aligning with the school’s Guiding Statements, curriculum, and policies.

1. Establishing high expectations that inspire, motivate, and challenge students.

• Create a positive, secure, and stimulating classroom atmosphere that encourages students, supports risk-taking in their learning, and builds confidence.

• Develop lessons with defined objectives that promote active engagement, independence, collaboration, and cross-curricular connections.

• Maintain high expectations consistently through strong relationships and inclusive practices.

2. Fostering ongoing progress and outcomes for all students.

• Gain insights into student needs to personalize learning, leveraging curriculum sequencing and prior knowledge to guide their progress.

• Encourage students to reflect, take responsibility, and develop conscientious attitudes toward independent work and study.

3. Exhibiting excellent knowledge of the subject and curriculum.

• Create learning opportunities that reinforce concepts, ignite interest, and challenge students.

• Continuously enhance professional skills through ongoing professional development, applying this expertise to classroom practices with a focus on literacy, numeracy, and the importance of scholarship.

4. Planning, preparing, and delivering engaging lessons.

• Design and present engaging, purposeful lessons tailored to meet diverse student needs, with clearly defined goals, constructive feedback, and evidence-based strategies to facilitate progress.

• Foster positive classroom relationships and work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a consistent, student-centered approach that supports both learning and well-being.

5. Adapting teaching to the strengths and needs of students.

• Collaborate with students to establish clear, meaningful goals and adjust lessons according to individual requirements using various strategies such as differentiation, questioning, active learning, and technology.

• Implement assessments, feedback, and reflections to guide instruction, support student progress, and create an inclusive environment where all students feel appreciated and challenged.

6. Utilizing assessment effectively.

• Systematically evaluate student learning through diverse methods, providing clear feedback that aids improvement and progress.

• Consistently leverage assessment data to inform instruction, guide planning, and ensure every student reaches their full potential.

7. Ensuring quality of provision.

• Communicate effectively with parents, offering clear feedback and guidance.

• Prepare and use resources that align with student needs and engage support staff in planning and instruction.

• Manage time efficiently and perform academic reporting diligently through updates, reports, and parent meetings to provide an accurate picture of student progress.

Qualifications and Experience

• A University/College degree, preferably in the subject being taught.

• PGCE or equivalent certifications.

• Three years of relevant experience (desirable but not essential).

• A demonstrated ability to support students from a variety of cultural backgrounds and those with additional needs (e.g., English as an Additional Language and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities).
