About This Role
Marlborough College Malaysia
Marlborough College Malaysia is truly a remarkable place. Everyone who has the privilege of working here agrees that our greatest joy, strength, advertisement, and reward come from the remarkable pupils who make up our community. They offer continual inspiration, exemplify what a better society could resemble, and instill genuine hope for the future.
Our 90-acre campus in southern Malaysia provides a safe and expansive environment, echoing the generous grounds and athletic fields of Marlborough College in the UK, complemented by our own organic farm and scenic boating lake. Guided by our values of compassion, companionship, and conversation, Marlborough College Malaysia empowers its students to discover their potential, explore the wonders of the world, and embrace their responsibilities towards one another and the planet.
The College comprises a Prep School (ages 3-13) and a Senior School (ages 14-18), currently serving 1,000 students, with 610 in the Prep and 388 in the Senior School. Pupils aged nine and older may opt to board, with about one-third of those eligible choosing to do so; nearly half of the Senior School and most Sixth Form students reside on campus. The Singapore Tatler has noted that our College offers “the only authentic British boarding programme in Asia.”
Marlborough College Malaysia is exceptionally well-resourced and enjoys an outstanding reputation for the accomplishments of its students across a wide range of disciplines. It is among the few schools in Asia to gain membership in HMC, an association of the premier independent schools globally, to achieve the esteemed “Beacon” status from the Council of British International Schools, and to receive international recognition for innovation and excellence from the UK’s Boarding Schools’ Association. In 2024, it was recognized in The School’s Index (by Carfax Education) as one of the world’s top 150 independent schools for the fourth consecutive year and ranked among the top 10 schools in South East Asia. It also appears in the Spear’s Index of the top 100 private schools worldwide, received the ‘International School of the Year’ award from Tes in 2024, and from the BSA in 2025. Following a recent ISI inspection, MCM has also achieved the esteemed BSO (British Schools Overseas) status.
Marlborough College Malaysia maintains strong ties with Marlborough College in the UK and stands out as one of the few international schools that is a wholly owned subsidiary of its founding institution and operates on a not-for-profit basis. Unlike many international schools that require profits to repay investors, all surplus generated by Marlborough College Malaysia is dedicated to Marlborough’s charitable mission of providing the highest quality education, showcasing the best of a British independent school experience.
