About This Role
We are looking to fill this position from 14 September 2026 to 4 December 2026. Applicants must be residents of Singapore.
Core Responsibility:
To deliver a dynamic, challenging, and enjoyable learning experience for students both inside and outside of the classroom, while providing the support they need to excel at SJI International.
Detailed Responsibilities:
Teaching and learning
● Recognize and implement the most effective active and creative teaching methods for SJII students, aligning with current best practices and the values of our institution.
● Collaborate with fellow Faculty members to maintain consistent standards in areas such as curriculum planning and delivery, formative and summative assessments via classwork, homework, and formal examinations, as well as standardization and moderation of the examination process.
● Develop an engaging learning atmosphere, showcasing student work through displays.
● Instruct students in the IB Diploma Programme (Grades 11 & 12). Experience with IB/A-Level or equivalent is preferred.
● Seek out and utilize resources available in and outside of Singapore to extend learning beyond the classroom.
● Implement strategies and monitor teaching and learning activities to assist individuals with SEN/ESL in accordance with school and faculty policies.
● Adhere to all health and safety regulations within the classroom.
● Assign and evaluate homework consistently as per school and faculty guidelines.
● Teach study skills and strategies that enhance students' ability to learn independently.
Recording and assessment
● Establish clear objectives for improving student achievement.
● Gather and document assessment data.
● Follow established procedures for identifying, assessing, and reviewing student progress.
● Cultivate an understanding of diverse learning needs and the significance of enhancing achievement among students.
● Participate in parent conferences and keep parents updated on their child's progress through regular assessments, written reports, and ongoing communication via email and the student diary/planner.
Standards and quality assurance
● Uphold the mission and values of SJII as a Catholic, Lasallian institution.
● Model appropriate standards in terms of dress, punctuality, and attendance.
● Attend and engage in open evenings and student performances.
● Maintain the school's behavior code and uniform policies.
● Participate in staff training and annual performance evaluations.
● Attend team meetings and staff meetings as required.
Other duties and responsibilities
This job specification serves as a general outline for Subject Teachers; all educators at SJI International are expected to actively engage in service, sports, and activity programs, accompany school trips and expeditions, and contribute to the ongoing development of a vibrant school community.
