Position Overview
In the role of Physical Education (PE) Teacher at our international school, you will be instrumental in fostering physical fitness, wellness, and an active lifestyle among our students. This position entails delivering dynamic PE lessons, enhancing students’ physical capabilities, promoting teamwork and sportsmanship, and creating a safe, inclusive atmosphere for learning.
You will aid in shaping the PE curriculum, support the holistic development of students, and collaborate effectively within our diverse school community.
Create and implement engaging Physical Education lessons tailored to students’ age, abilities, and cultural backgrounds.
•
Instruct a variety of sports, games, and physical activities with an emphasis on movement skills, techniques, strategies, and fair play.
•
Encourage teamwork, sportsmanship, discipline, and respect throughout all activities.
•
Develop and execute a progressive PE curriculum utilizing a range of teaching methods and resources.
•
Modify teaching techniques to cater to students with varying learning styles and abilities.
•
Advocate for healthy lifestyles by educating students about physical fitness, nutrition, and overall well-being.
•
Evaluate and track student progress, providing constructive feedback to facilitate growth.
•
Ensure the safety of students during all PE activities and adhere to school health and safety policies.
•
Organize and oversee extracurricular sports activities, tournaments, and school events.
•
Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the broader school community to enhance student development.
•
Engage in school events, meetings, professional development opportunities, and parent-teacher conferences.
•
Make a positive contribution to the broader school community and uphold the institution’s mission and values.
General Duties
•
Adhere to and actively support all school policies and procedures.
•
Follow school Health and Safety guidelines to maintain a secure learning environment.
•
Carry out any additional responsibilities as assigned by PBISS management.
•
Support school-wide initiatives and projects that enhance the organization.
Qualifications and Skills
•
Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education or a related discipline.
•
Teaching qualification or certification is preferred.
•
Prior experience teaching Physical Education, ideally in an international or multicultural setting.
•
Strong understanding of sports, physical fitness, and wellness practices.
•
Capability to design engaging and age-appropriate lesson plans.
•
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
•
Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
•
Strong organizational and time-management capabilities.
•
Commitment to ongoing professional development.
•
CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to acquire).
•
Proficiency in English; additional languages are a plus.
