About This Role
Varee Chiangmai International School, an esteemed member of EDT (Education Development Trust), offers a fully accredited CIE (Cambridge Assessment International Education) program that follows a British curriculum, guiding students through key stages towards IGCSE and A level qualifications. Our latest inspection recognized us as a Good school with Outstanding features. We embrace a holistic approach to education and development, enriching our curriculum with arts, sports, creative clubs, and the Duke of Edinburgh award program, all of which enhance our extra-curricular offerings. Currently, our secondary school serves around 250 students.
Situated near the heart of Chiang Mai, the lively capital of Thailand's northern Lanna region, our school is surrounded by misty mountains, historic Buddhist temples, and a rich tapestry of Hill Tribe cultures, complemented by a vibrant social scene. Chiang Mai consistently ranks among the top 10 most livable cities in Asia, boasting a relaxed lifestyle, a tropical climate moderated by elevation for most of the year, and affordability that encourages many of our teachers to renew their contracts.
We are seeking a qualified candidate who meets the following criteria:
● Holds a degree/qualification in a relevant discipline.
● Possesses a PGCE or equivalent certification.
● Is capable of teaching across all key stages and varying ability levels.
● Must be able to teach Physics at Key Stage 5.
● Can effectively utilize technology to monitor student progress.
● Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and is a collaborative team member.
● Has experience working with diverse groups of colleagues, students, and parents, along with familiarity in different cultural settings; previous experience in a multicultural/international school is advantageous.
● Is prepared to support and accommodate ESL learners in their lessons.
● Maintains a flexible approach as the school evolves and expands.
● Embodies positivity and enthusiasm in the staffroom.
● Is eager to engage fully in the school's extra-curricular activities.
