About This Role

Amity International School, Abu Dhabi is seeking to hire a dedicated, qualified, and experienced Higher Education & Careers (HEC) Counsellor for our secondary school.

To support the expanding Senior School, Amity is in search of a Careers and University Counsellor. The ideal candidate will possess relevant experience and a passion for enhancing the career services available to our Secondary students, collaborating closely with students, educators, and families. With a diverse community representing over seventy nationalities, students at Amity have a wide range of aspirations for university destinations. Our typical student is ambitious and diligent, holding high expectations for their future educational paths. We are looking for individuals who:

·      Possess practical experience and current knowledge of UCAS

·      Have experience with international university placements, including in the US, Canada, and Australia

·      Recognize the significance of A levels and BTECs on a global scale

·      Coordinate with universities to set up higher education fairs and campus visits

·      Create and manage a careers curriculum for Years 7-13, working alongside the Deputy Head Pastoral and Heads of Year to integrate career education into the KS3 and KS4 curricula

·      Assist Year 9 students with their GCSE selections and Year 11 students with their A Level options, focusing on future studies and career paths

·      Have experience with career education platforms like Unifrog to help students explore their skills, interests, and career profiles

·      Build and maintain connections with employers to facilitate relevant work experience opportunities

·      Organize guest speaker sessions to share diverse career journeys

·      Sustain a robust alumni network

Compensation

£2,000 - £3,000 per month
