About This Role

Job Overview: Since its establishment in 2015, Anne Hill International has been dedicated to offering international education for students aged 2-13, with plans to expand into secondary education in the near future. Our mission focuses on providing accessible, high-quality international education, while our vision emphasizes the development of well-rounded, globally aware, lifelong learners. Currently, our school serves around 350 students representing 30 different countries, supported by a committed team of 30 teachers from various backgrounds. Learning & Teaching Assistants play a crucial role in enhancing teaching and learning activities. We are proud to be a member of the Council of International Schools (CIS).

Duties & Responsibilities

As a Primary Homeroom Teacher, you will oversee the academic progress and pastoral care of your students in line with the school’s Guiding Statements, curriculum, and policies. Your professional responsibilities will include teaching Reading, English, Maths, and the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), along with the following:

1. Set high expectations that inspire, motivate, and challenge students.

• Create a positive, secure, and stimulating classroom atmosphere that encourages students, supports risk-taking in learning, and builds confidence.

• Develop lessons with defined objectives that promote active participation, independence, collaboration, and interdisciplinary connections.

• Maintain high expectations consistently through strong relationships and inclusive practices.

2. Foster continuous progress and outcomes for all students.

• Gain insights into students' needs to tailor learning experiences, using curriculum sequencing and prior knowledge to facilitate advancement.

• Encourage student reflection, responsibility, and conscientious attitudes toward independent work and study.

3. Exhibit excellent knowledge of subject matter and curriculum.

• Create learning experiences that reinforce concepts, ignite interest, and challenge students.

• Continuously enhance your professional skills through ongoing development, applying them in the classroom with a focus on literacy, numeracy, and scholarship.

4. Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons.

• Design and implement purposeful, engaging lessons that address diverse student needs, with clear objectives, constructive feedback, and evidence-based strategies to promote progress.

• Cultivate positive relationships in the classroom and collaborate with colleagues to ensure a consistent, student-centered approach that supports both learning and wellbeing.

5. Tailor teaching to the strengths and needs of students.

• Work with students to establish clear, purposeful goals and adjust lessons to meet individual needs using a variety of strategies, including differentiation, questioning, active learning, and technology.

• Utilize assessment, feedback, and reflection to inform teaching, support progress, and create an inclusive environment where all students feel valued and challenged.

6. Utilize assessment effectively and productively.

• Regularly assess student learning using diverse methods, providing clear feedback that encourages improvement and growth.

• Consistently apply assessment data to inform teaching practices, guiding planning and ensuring every student reaches their potential.

7. Ensure the quality of educational provision.

• Communicate effectively with parents, providing clear feedback and guidance.

• Prepare and utilize resources tailored to student needs while engaging support staff in planning and instruction.

• Manage time effectively and conduct academic reporting diligently through updates, reports, and parent meetings to provide an accurate overview of student progress.

Qualifications and Experience

• A degree in Primary Education or PGCE (including Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent).

• Three years of experience as a homeroom teacher (desirable, but not essential).

• A proven record of supporting students from diverse cultural backgrounds and those with additional needs (e.g., English as an Additional Language and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities).

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
