We are seeking a highly qualified and talented Head of Modern Foreign Languages (Spanish and French) to join our team in August 2026 and lead our MFL department.

Oversee and manage the Modern Foreign Languages department, ensuring high-quality teaching in Spanish and French.
•
Provide engaging and effective lessons aligned with the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) and other international curricula.
•
Design and implement dynamic lessons that accommodate diverse learning styles, utilizing contemporary teaching techniques and technology.
•
Assess student progress through both formative and summative evaluations, maintaining high academic standards.
•
Offer pastoral support, enhancing student well-being and collaborating with the school’s well-being team.
•
Promote student participation in extra-curricular activities, cultural events, and language-related initiatives.
•
Contribute to the development of the curriculum and initiatives aimed at school improvement.
•
Foster a positive departmental and classroom atmosphere with high standards for behavior and discipline.
•
Collaborate with colleagues to exchange best practices and support professional development objectives.
•
Maintain regular communication with parents and stakeholders regarding student progress.
•
Stay informed about educational advancements and engage in continuous professional development.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
•
A relevant degree in Modern Foreign Languages (Spanish and French) or a related discipline, along with a valid teaching qualification.
•
Experience teaching Spanish and French at the secondary level, preferably with familiarity with the IB curriculum (IBDP) or other international programs.
•
Previous experience in a leadership or departmental management position is highly preferred.
•
The capability to inspire and engage students, nurturing a passion for languages and culture.
•
Strong aptitude for differentiating instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
•
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for building strong relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
•
Experience in utilizing technology and innovative teaching strategies to enhance the learning experience.
•
A commitment to ongoing professional development.
•
A solid understanding of safeguarding and student welfare practices.
