About This Role
A new and exciting opportunity awaits at The English School, Kuwait—an institution with a rich history spanning over 70 years of Tradition, Excellence, and Success. As the oldest British School in the Middle East and the only not-for-profit school in Kuwait, we are in search of a dedicated and inspiring Class Teacher for KS2/KS3 to become part of our welcoming, skilled, and successful Pre-Prep/Prep School team.
This full-time position offers a remarkable chance to have an immediate influence as we encourage creativity and foundational design skills among our youngest learners.
With our ongoing emphasis on delivering a comprehensive and challenging curriculum closely aligned with British educational standards, this role provides a distinctive opportunity for a passionate and adept educator to ignite creativity and technical skills within our diverse and engaged Pre-Prep/Prep student community.
We seek an individual with a demonstrated history of exceptional teaching and learning, someone who can spark curiosity, motivate students to reach their full potential, and cultivate a classroom environment rooted in respect and creativity. The ideal candidate will possess strong subject knowledge and the capability to support and inspire pupils across all ability levels.
The selected candidate will also be expected to:
• Exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with colleagues, parents, and support staff.
• Actively promote and uphold the school's core values: respect, integrity, confidence, positivity, and empathy.
• Show a personal commitment to the safeguarding and overall wellbeing of pupils, adhering to all safeguarding policies and procedures.
• Set high expectations to inspire, motivate, and challenge pupils.
• Lead at least two out of three blocks of one-hour Extra-Curricular Activities for students.
We encourage you to examine our Applicant Information Pack for a comprehensive overview of our school and the position.
The successful candidate will join our team at the commencement of the 2026/2027 academic year.
***Important note for female applicants regarding residency and sponsorship in Kuwait: Currently, women are not allowed to sponsor dependents. Therefore, you would not be able to sponsor a husband or children for residency in Kuwait. Conversely, a husband may pursue job opportunities in Kuwait, and if successful, he would be able to secure his own residency and sponsor children. We recognize that this is an important consideration and aim to be fully transparent during the application process.
The English School is dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. In line with our Safer Recruitment Policy, applicants must be prepared to undergo rigorous child protection screening, which includes checks with previous employers and criminal records checks.
