About This Role

Position Overview:
ISB is in search of a skilled High School Counselor with a strong history of aiding adolescents in their personal and academic journeys while promoting well-being, resilience, and social-emotional growth. The High School Counselors at ISB collaborate closely with students, parents, faculty, and administrators to offer guidance, personalized planning, and proactive support. The ideal candidate will be experienced in designing initiatives that enhance social-emotional skills, encourage leadership, and foster positive peer relationships. This position presents an opportunity to cultivate a welcoming and inclusive school environment where students feel both supported and challenged. The successful applicant will work alongside university counselors, administrators, and faculty to empower students to take charge of their learning, build self-confidence and awareness, and excel both academically and personally.

Counselors at ISB will:
• Participate in collaborative team meetings with a focus on student learning and well-being.
• Provide short-term individual and group counseling addressing personal, academic, social, and behavioral issues.
• Assist students in setting personal, social, and academic objectives.
• Address the diverse backgrounds and unique needs of students.
• Be part of the student support team, managing referrals and coordinating assistance for student requirements.
• Aid in course planning and registration processes.
• Consult and work together with parents, administrators, teachers, psychologists, and external professionals.
• Meet individually with all advisees/counselees.
• Organize orientation and transition programs for new students and those moving between grades.
• Support the Advisory program and deliver SEL (Social-Emotional Learning) content.
• Guide students and parents in accessing external counseling services, testing, or psychological support.
• Participate in and lead as necessary on the Crisis Response Team.
• Create growth opportunities for students in leadership, community-building, and social-emotional development.
• Engage in ongoing professional development to implement evidence-based counseling practices.
• Contribute to a coordinated, school-wide counseling program and promote a safe, healthy school environment.
• Support Student Safeguarding training for students, faculty, and the community.
• Positively impact school culture through care, collaboration, and a shared mission.
• Maintain high standards supported by effective systems of support.

Other Duties:
• Foster student involvement and connection by sponsoring a student club or a non-stipended extracurricular activity.
• Chaperone and co-lead students during the High School DELVE experiential learning week.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
