Gabriel’s CofE Academy is looking for a passionate and skilful specialist teacher
to join our wonderful school and lead our new-to-open specialist resource
provision in September 2026. Our new specialist teacher will play an important
role in the delivery of our mission to love and inspire our community to
flourish by providing expert care and educational opportunities for up to 8
children with special education needs in the area of communication and
interaction. This role offers the successful candidate the opportunity to have
a significant impact on our children, offering them high-quality learning
experiences with love and care as well as working alongside our brilliant staff
team to continue to deliver excellent standards across the school.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with the Headteacher and Leadership team to
secure the highest standards in our provision; including but not limited to: providing highly individualised
learning opportunities for pupils with special educational needs; carefully tracking, monitoring and
reporting on steps of progress relevant to the individual child; providing high-quality personal development
and enrichment activities; working productively with a range of professionals to ensure pupils achieve and
thrive; promoting well-being and safeguarding and showing a commitment to professional development.
The role is suitable for teachers with experience of special educational needs, particularly in the area of
communication and interaction. It is open to full or part-time applicants.
We are looking for a teacher who:
- Has a proven ability to teach pupils with communication and interaction needs effectively.
- Has the ability to lead a provision and manage staff in an effective way.
- Is able to reflect and see solutions in daily teaching, in own practice and that of the team.
- Can use their initiative to solve problems.
- Can share ideas for the adjustment of learning to enable pupils to access the learning effectively.
- Can build effective trusting relationships with staff, pupils, parents and external agencies.
- Can help shape the new provision in the context of the school.
