The “Intercultural Programme” at Collegio San Carlo serves students from Kindergarten to Year 13, featuring five distinct streams in High School, including the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP).
The primary objective of this programme is to merge a comprehensive international bilingual curriculum with the guidelines established by the Italian Ministry of Education, delivering 50% of the subjects in English within an integrated and cohesive framework. Each Intercultural class is co-led by a collaborative team of English and Italian educators. The subjects assigned to English teachers encompass: English, Geography, Science, Creative Arts, and Digital Studies. Additionally, specialist teachers who are fluent in English instruct Physical Education and Music.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills Required:
- A minimum of 3-4 years of teaching experience at the Lower Primary level
- A Bachelor’s degree in Education
- A relevant Teaching Qualification (PGCE or equivalent)
- Experience in teaching phonics and the Primary Cambridge International Curriculum or a similar program
- An appreciation for collegiality as a core educational value
- Strong collaborative skills
- Proficiency in digital competencies; being an Apple Teacher is advantageous
- Native English speaker
- Knowledge of Italian is a plus
- Only candidates with an EU passport or valid work authorization for Italy will be considered.
