Al Khor International School (AKIS) is a co-educational, non-selective international school serving students aged 4 to 18. The opportunity:
We are looking for a skilled and vibrant subject leader for junior school mathematics to join our team in April 2025, or as soon as possible thereafter. The ideal candidate will be an exemplary educator, capable of fostering student personal development and enhancing learning standards and achievements. Skills and qualities:
- A strong commitment to student well-being and learning
- A Bachelor’s degree in mathematics along with a teaching certificate
- Experience in a CBSE or international school setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A high degree of cultural awareness and sensitivity
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the mathematics team in areas such as curriculum development, teaching and learning, assessment, and quality assurance
- Oversee the daily operations of the mathematics department
- Manage and support the performance and professional growth of the mathematics team
- Monitor student progress and ensure high levels of student achievement
- Direct the department in alignment with annual school improvement plans
