Academia Cotopaxi is seeking a motivated Elementary Teacher to deliver inquiry-based, concept-driven PYP education for Grade 2. The successful candidate will design hands-on units through projects, field experiences, and community service, collaborate with students to develop inquiries that enhance their agency and voice, customize instruction to accommodate the varied needs of students, and work closely with grade-level teams, specialists, and families.
Key Responsibilities

Create and implement concept-driven, age-appropriate transdisciplinary units that stimulate inquiry and encourage student agency.

Modify instruction and provide support for Learning Support, ELL, and advanced learners.
•
Employ formative and summative assessments, portfolios, and documentation to monitor student progress and inform instructional strategies; keep detailed records and family reports.

Support students' social-emotional growth, establish nurturing routines, and foster a culturally responsive classroom atmosphere.
•
Design inclusive and flexible indoor/outdoor learning environments that promote hands-on exploration and collaboration.
•
Maintain regular communication with families to update them on student progress and offer strategies to support learning at home.
•
Participate in school events (which may include evenings and Saturdays), provide extended learning opportunities, and utilize planning time effectively.

Dedicate yourself to continual professional development, demonstrate ethical practices aligned with IB principles, and engage actively in team planning and school improvement initiatives.
*Experience in international schools employing the PYP framework within a global educational context is strongly preferred.
