Vietnam-Australia School, Hanoi (VAS Hanoi) is a bilingual international school offering a dual curriculum that integrates the Vietnamese National Curriculum with the Cambridge Pathway (Checkpoint Primary and Lower Secondary, IGCSE) and Australian Mathematics.

We are seeking a committed and professional ESL Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be an organized and collaborative educator, capable of navigating diverse curricula while making a positive impact on the school community.

About the Role

VAS Hanoi is accepting applications for the position of an experienced, enthusiastic, and dedicated English teacher to join our Primary Department. This position is offered as a one-year contract, with the potential for renewal.

The chosen candidate will teach Cambridge Grade 2 English and Science, as well as ESL for grades 1 and 5. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development of our Cambridge pathways.

We are looking for a teacher who:

  • Creates engaging lesson plans and utilizes student-centered teaching techniques.
  • Is eager to take part in school events and community projects.
  • Is willing to engage in professional development and adopt new educational technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Effectively manage time to balance lesson preparation, assessments, and classroom responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design lessons, coordinate learning activities, and track student progress.
  • Customize instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Monitor and assess student progress through both formative and summative evaluations.
  • Provide clear, constructive feedback to students and parents both in writing and verbally.
  • Uphold high standards for behavior and academic excellence.
  • Participate in department meetings, engage in professional development, and attend school events.
  • Demonstrate a flexible, proactive, and positive attitude in a dynamic school environment.
  • Follow safeguarding and child protection protocols at all times.

Requirements

  • Native-level English speaker; candidates must show proficiency in both written and spoken English.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • A recognized teaching qualification (PGCE with QTS, Teaching License, or Bachelor of Education in Primary).
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional teaching experience (post-qualification).
  • Knowledge of the Cambridge Curriculum.
  • Experience with ESL students is highly beneficial.
  • Comfortable with technology, including Seesaw and Google Workspace (Google Docs, Slides, Drive, etc.).

Desirable

  • Experience in bilingual or international school settings.
  • Basic understanding of how AI tools can enhance teaching and learning.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficient with Seesaw and Google Workspace (Google Docs, Slides, Drive, etc.).

Compensation
