Mathematics Teacher

The British College of Gava, an IB World School located just 20 minutes from Barcelona, is looking to hire a full-time Mathematics teacher to commence in August 2025.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing, purpose-built institution that boasts outstanding facilities in an excellent setting. We are in search of a full-time Mathematics teacher to instruct students across KS3, GCSE, and IBDP AI and AA Mathematics courses.

The ideal candidate will be a dedicated team player who possesses the enthusiasm, energy, and commitment to advance this innovative school. Applicants should be prepared to lead by example and actively participate in the school’s pastoral care along with other teaching responsibilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare, deliver, and assess subject-based activities that enhance student learning opportunities.
• Plan lessons by set deadlines in agreed formats and ensure that planning copies are accessible to relevant parties.
• Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and share insights with colleagues when suitable.
• Create a stimulating, organized classroom environment where time and resources are effectively utilized.
• Engage students in the target-setting process.
• Assign homework that reinforces and expands upon classroom learning and provide timely feedback on students’ work.
• Ensure students exhibit good behavior and foster positive attitudes toward peers, adults, property, and schoolwork.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and ensure the transfer of current records when students switch classes or schools.
• Foster and maintain a strong home-school partnership, keeping parents informed about their children's progress, achievements, and attitudes.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

Essential:

• UK trained with qualified teacher status
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Secondary Education teaching experience
• Strong knowledge and understanding of the English National Curriculum
• Experience with iGCSE/A Level/IBDP

Desirable:

• Familiarity with IB programmes
• Master’s degree or postgraduate qualification
• Right to work in the EU
