Learning Support Assistant (Inclusion) - Foundation Stage (Aug 2025 start)
About This Role
Dubai British School Jumeirah Park Foundation is in the process of hiring a qualified and experienced Learning Support Assistant for the upcoming academic year 2025-26, beginning in August 2025.
We seek to appoint an Inclusion Learning Support Assistant (LSA) who will work collaboratively as part of a class and year group team. The ideal candidate will assist in fostering the learning and personal development of designated student(s), creating a learning environment that caters to their developmental and educational needs, under the overall guidance of the class teacher and Head of Inclusion/SENCO.
The successful applicant will actively engage within their respective year group and the broader school community, demonstrating professionalism, participation, collaboration, and reflective practice.
Job Specification:
- Operate within the framework established by the assigned teacher and Head of Inclusion/SENCO, clearly defining the LSA’s role in lessons, including how to provide feedback to the designated student(s) and colleagues regarding learning and behavior.
- Supervise and facilitate individualized support for the named student, particularly concerning Individual Education Plan (IEP) and pupil passport targets, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities, including specialist lessons when appropriate.
- Provide informal feedback to the designated student about their progress and achievements, under the teacher's guidance.
- Record and communicate any concerns or positive feedback regarding the student’s welfare and accomplishments to the teacher, colleagues, and supporting professionals.
- Effectively communicate with the designated student's parents through emails and reports based on IEP/pupil passport targets and outcomes, either weekly/monthly or as directed by the Head of Inclusion/SENCO.
- Maintain a file of IEP/pupil passports, records, minutes, and other pertinent documents.
- Contribute to the well-being of the children by addressing their physical, emotional, and social needs.
- Attend staff meetings and Professional Development days as requested by the school.
- Accompany the student to extracurricular activities (ECAs) outside of school hours, if required and agreed upon by the school and parents.
- Perform any other similar tasks as directed, including being adaptable to support other areas of the school as needed, which may involve assisting other students in collaborative settings.
