About This Role

Head of Teaching & Learning Primary (m/f/d)

St. George’s School is seeking a skilled professional to strengthen the educational framework within the Primary School, with an anticipated start date in August 2026.

About the School

For almost 40 years, St. George’s School has been committed to serving the international community in Cologne, offering a rich curriculum embedded in a family-oriented atmosphere. What began as a small institution has grown into a dynamic community of around 800 students, aged 2-18, hailing from more than 50 different nationalities.

The school implements the National Curriculum throughout its programs and offers the IB Diploma in the Sixth form.

As part of a network of three schools in Germany, St. George’s provides the successful candidate with ample opportunities for professional development and career growth within the school group.

Location

Located on a newly developed campus on the outskirts of Cologne, St. George’s School enjoys excellent transport links to the city center and the surrounding Cologne-Bonn area.

Cologne, the fourth-largest city in Germany, is a vibrant cultural center with a diverse international population. Centrally situated in Europe, Cologne offers a high standard of living along with abundant opportunities for travel and cultural exploration.

The Cologne-Bonn airport is just 20 km from the school, providing numerous daily flights to the UK, and a high-speed rail service connects Cologne to London via Brussels.

The Position

We are excited to welcome a qualified Head of Teaching & Learning. This role offers a thrilling opportunity for a proactive and innovative educator who can maintain the highest teaching and learning standards.

Fluency in English and a strong grasp of the English National Curriculum are required. A commitment to engaging in the department’s lively extra-curricular activities is also a plus.

Given the school's evolving landscape, flexibility and a readiness to support colleagues are essential. An enthusiasm for contributing to the school’s pastoral and extra-curricular initiatives will be advantageous.
