We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and motivational Head of Physical Education (PE) to join our Secondary Section.

This role offers a thrilling opportunity to advance excellence in physical education and provide strategic leadership to a vibrant and high-achieving department. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in enriching students' lives beyond academics through outstanding wellbeing programs, competitive sports, and inclusive co-curricular activities.

Key Responsibilities:

As the Head of PE, you will focus on departmental leadership, curriculum management, and maintaining high standards within the discipline. Your responsibilities will include:

• Strategic Leadership: Motivate, guide, and oversee the PE Department staff, fostering a culture of achievement and ongoing professional development.

• Curriculum Management: Ensure the development, implementation, and comprehensive evaluation of the PE curriculum across all Secondary Key Stages, aligning with the school's goals and driving excellent student outcomes.

• Academic and Athletic Excellence: Promote continuous enhancement in teaching and coaching methods, employing data-driven approaches to help all students realize their full potential in PE and school sports.

• Resource and Facility Management: Efficiently manage the departmental budget, sports equipment, and facilities while upholding rigorous health and safety standards.

• Promoting Physical Literacy: Encourage a passion for sports, healthy living, and physical literacy throughout the school community using innovative classroom strategies and an engaging, competitive co-curricular program.

• Pastoral Care: Emphasize student wellbeing within the department, ensuring a nurturing, inclusive, and supportive atmosphere for every learner.

• School Leadership: Actively and positively contribute to the overall strategic leadership of the Secondary Section as a key Head of Department.

Qualifications and Experience:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education or a related field (essential).

• Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in PE, preferably in an international or British curriculum setting.

• Proven leadership experience in an educational context (e.g., Head of Department, Second in Charge, or a similar position).

• Experience teaching GCSE, IGCSE, A-Level, or IB Diploma English is highly desirable.

• Excellent command of the English language, along with strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

• A demonstrated commitment to professional development, collaboration, and facilitating student success.

Compensation

£35,000 - £55,000 (Tax-Free Equivalent)
