About This Role
Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate and certified educator to deliver engaging instruction in the German language as well as [another Subject], which may include English, chemistry, biology, science, or an alternative area. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic professional capable of fostering language growth alongside subject-specific knowledge, ideally in a bilingual or Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) environment. This role requires a firm commitment to student achievement, creative teaching methodologies, and collaboration within a diverse educational setting.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Teaching & Learning
•
Develop, prepare, and present high-quality lessons in both German and [Subject], following the school's curriculum guidelines.
•
Utilize a variety of teaching methods to meet the diverse learning styles and proficiency levels of students.
•
Integrate language learning objectives with [Subject] material, promoting academic language development in both disciplines.
•
Effectively use educational technology to enhance student engagement and improve learning outcomes.
2. Assessment & Reporting
•
Design and execute formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress in German and [Subject].
•
Provide timely, constructive, and actionable feedback to students.
•
Maintain accurate records of student achievements and compile detailed reports on performance.
•
Analyze assessment data to inform future teaching strategies and intervention plans.
3. Classroom Management & Student Support
•
Create a safe, respectful, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
•
Establish and maintain clear expectations for student behavior and classroom protocols.
•
Identify and address the unique learning needs of all students, including those requiring additional challenges or support.
4. Professional & Community Engagement
•
Collaborate effectively with colleagues in both the Language and [Subject] departments.
•
Actively engage in departmental meetings, school-wide professional development, and training opportunities.
•
Communicate professionally and effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress.
•
Participate in the broader school community by attending events, clubs, or committees.
Qualifications & Requirements
•
Education & Certification
•
A Bachelor’s degree in Education, German, [Subject], or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
•
A valid teaching certification/license that qualifies you to instruct both German and [Subject] at the designated school level.
•
Experience
•
A minimum of 2 years of successful teaching experience in German and [Subject].
•
Proven experience in bilingual education, immersion programs, or CLIL methodologies is highly desirable.
•
Language Proficiency
•
Native or near-native proficiency in German (C2 level according to CEFR).
•
Professional proficiency in English sufficient for collaboration, reporting, and communication within the school community.

Knowledge & Skills
•
In-depth understanding of German language pedagogy and [Subject].
•
Strong knowledge of second language acquisition principles.
•
Outstanding classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
•
Technological proficiency with common educational tools and platforms.
