The Finance Officer is crucial in maintaining the efficient financial operations of the school. Collaborating closely with the Bursar, this role is responsible for daily accounting tasks, precise financial reporting, fee billing and credit control, budget monitoring, VAT returns, and upholding strong internal controls. This dynamic position requires excellent financial insight, meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to deliver high-quality service to parents, staff, and suppliers.
The ideal candidate will possess strong financial expertise and exceptional organizational skills, with a solid understanding of accounting principles and experience in purchase and sales ledgers, reconciliations, management accounts, and budget monitoring. They should demonstrate high accuracy, advanced proficiency in Excel, and confidence in using computerized finance systems, ideally with experience in school finance (FMS desirable), fee billing, VAT returns, and ParentPay. The individual will be discreet, trustworthy, and composed under pressure, with strong communication abilities and a collaborative spirit when working with colleagues, parents, and suppliers.
