- A competitive salary that increases annually until you reach the maximum pay scale.
- Depending on eligibility, you will have access to two pension options: the Teachers Superannuation scheme or the Isle of Man Government Defined Contribution (DC) plan.
- If you are returning to the island and have benefited from the Department’s Student Loan scheme for tuition fees, the loan will be repaid by the Department after you complete your second year as a teacher at one of the island’s schools (up to £7,500 for a three-year degree or £10,000 for a four-year degree).
- As an Early Career Teacher in your first year, you will receive two recruitment and retention bonuses of £2,000 each at the start of your second and third full years of teaching.
- Financial assistance to help you, your family, and your belongings relocate to the Isle of Man, including 70% coverage of any removal or storage costs.
- Support with housing costs, offering a housing allowance of up to £500 per month for two years.
- If relocating to the Isle of Man, you may receive financial assistance for visiting the island to view housing and meet your new school, with up to £325 each for you and your partner, plus £140 for each of up to two dependent children.
- A subject shortage allowance of up to £500 per month for a maximum of 8 months if you are appointed to a permanent role in a Maths, English, or Science teaching position (excluding TLR).
- For those relocating or returning to the island, you will receive a refund on your national insurance contributions during your first 12 months of employment, up to £4,400.
- Access to the Isle of Man Public Service Cycle to Work scheme after your first year of employment.
- Access to the Learning, Education and Development training facility, exclusively available to Public Service employees, to support your ongoing professional growth.
- Free access to the Isle of Man Government Staff Welfare Service, which provides professional counselling, emotional support, and resources on a variety of issues.
- Discounted access to the NSC gym and island swimming pools, along with personalized exercise programs and classes with qualified instructors through the ACTIV8 scheme.
- Free on-site parking.
- A relocation package available based on receipts for this position.
