- A competitive salary that increases annually until you reach the maximum pay scale.
- Eligible candidates will have access to two pension schemes: the Teachers Superannuation scheme or the Isle of Man Government Defined Contribution (DC) plan.
- If you are returning to the island and have previously participated in the Department’s Student Loan scheme for tuition fees, the Department will repay your loan upon completing your second year of teaching at one of the island’s schools. The repayment is capped at £7,500 for a three-year degree or £10,000 for a four-year degree, subject to the criteria outlined in the Teacher Loan Cancellation Policy.
- Early Career Teachers will receive £2,000 payments at the start of their first and second school years after completing the ECT induction period (2 years).
- Financial assistance for you, your family, and your belongings, including one vehicle, to relocate to the Isle of Man. We will cover 70% of any removal or storage expenses incurred.
- Housing assistance, providing up to £500 per month for two years to help with rent or mortgage payments as you settle in.
- If you are moving to the Isle of Man, you will receive financial support for visiting the island to look for housing and to meet your new school. You can claim up to £325 each for you and your partner, and if applicable, £140 each for up to two dependent children.
- A subject shortage allowance of up to £500 per month for a maximum of eight months if you secure a permanent position in a Maths, English, or Science teaching role (without TLR).
- For those relocating or returning to the island, you will receive a refund on your national insurance contributions during your first year of employment, up to £4,400.
- After your first year of employment, you can participate in the Isle of Man Public Service Cycle to Work scheme.
- Access to the Learning, Education, and Development training facility, exclusive to Public Service employees, to support your ongoing professional development.
- Free access to the Isle of Man Government Staff Welfare Service, which offers professional counselling, emotional support, and resources on various issues.
- Discounted access to the NSC gym and island swimming pools, along with personalized support programs and exercise classes led by qualified instructors through the ACTIV8 initiative.
- Eligibility for a Blue Light Card, providing numerous exclusive discounts on shopping, dining, and leisure activities at many popular retailers.
- Complimentary on-site parking.
- A relocation package based on receipts is available for this position.
