Head of Hockey
About This Role
We are in search of an outstanding Head of Hockey to guide and motivate our Hillcrest Hockey Club. This full-time position presents an exciting chance to design and implement a comprehensive and ambitious program that develops players from eager beginners to elite athletes, covering ages from primary school to Under 21s.
The ideal candidate will have a thorough knowledge of the hockey landscape in Kenya, including schools, clubs, and national levels, along with experience in high-performance settings and strong administrative and communication capabilities. Additionally, they should possess an EH Level 3 qualification or an FIH Level 3 (or higher) coaching certification.
Reporting to the Chief Excellence and Innovation Officer, the Head of Hockey will take on the overall management of the Hillcrest Hockey Club Program, which includes:
● Strategic Leadership: Managing the daily operations of the sport, encompassing planning, coaching, and competition oversight.
● Team Management: Inspiring and leading a team of coaches and interns to create a supportive, secure, and high-performance atmosphere.
● Pathway Development: Establishing strong connections with external clubs and the National Governing Body.
● Future Transition: Creating partnerships, such as with universities, to ensure Hillcrest’s performance pathways are sustained and to assist athletes in pursuing their sporting careers after school.
