The Bridge Trust is a unique Multi Academy Trust which consists of five special schools, two mainstream schools, a Training & Development Service and an Outreach Service. We are an ambitious family of schools that embraces the individuality of everyone – children and adults. Fen Rivers, which is part of The Bridge Trust, provides young people with specialist education in order for them to progress and succeed in sustained education or employment. Fen Rivers is a Therapeutic SEMH Special School, with a roll of 96 pupils when full. Our school caters for young people aged 5 to 16 years who are outside of mainstream education and have an education and health care plan with a Primary Need of SEMH. (Social emotional and mental health). The school had its first cohort of Year 11 pupils in 2024/25 and there is not currently an EYFS or Key Stage One cohort.

Children come to us, often having experienced adverse childhood experiences and complex trauma. As a result of our relentless focus on trauma informed practice, psychological safety, PACEful communication and positive safe relationships, barriers to engagement with learning are removed. Strong teaching and a broad and rich curriculum ensure that students develop the personal expertise, knowledge and skills to secure qualifications which afford them a bright future.
