About This Role

Socrates Educa International School, located in Salou, south of Barcelona, has the capacity to host up to 800 students. This inclusive institution offers a well-rounded education for children aged 1 to 18+. As the first school to implement the Socrates Educa model, it serves as a pioneer for future educational establishments.

Our dynamic trilingual school provides instruction in English, Spanish, and Catalan, covering education from Pre-school to Secondary, including both National and International Baccalaureate (IB) programs and the US High School Dual Diploma. With a strong emphasis on international education, students can also learn Chinese as a foreign language. Our curriculum adheres to local regulations while benefiting from a diverse array of educators, with English being the primary language of instruction.

Position Overview

We are currently looking for a Secondary teacher with experience in both national and International Baccalaureate curricula for the upcoming academic year, starting in September 2026.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player, an innovative and creative educator capable of tailoring instruction to meet diverse student needs, passionate about the humanities, and able to thrive in a multilingual environment. International teaching experience is essential, and familiarity with the IB framework is highly preferred. Tutoring responsibilities will also be included in this position. Knowledge of the Catalan and/or Spanish curriculum would be beneficial.

Essential Qualifications

  • Proficiency in English, with the ability to deliver lessons entirely in authentic English.
  • A teacher specializing in TOK, Philosophy, Social Science, Geography, History, or Global Politics, who is enthusiastic about their subject and can engage students of varying abilities. Experience with the IB and the capacity to teach an additional subject are advantageous.
  • Strong ICT skills (comfortable using Mac/iPad and familiar with educational software).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Education / PGCE / Secondary QTS (BEd / SCITT / School Direct / Teach First) or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Secondary teaching experience in IB and Bachillerato / ESO for ages 12-18.
  • IB trained and experienced, or willing to pursue training.

Desirable Attributes

  • Experience with UCAS / D of E.
  • Knowledge of the Spanish ESO / Bachillerato curriculum.
  • Proficiency in Spanish and Catalan.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
