THE ROLE
Our Inclusion department has significantly enhanced student outcomes and successfully instilled a passion for learning at GEMS World Academy. This success is attributed to the commitment of our staff, their exceptional subject expertise, and the department’s innovative approach to data and curriculum. The Inclusion department is highly esteemed by our students for the personalized care and support it provides. We are currently looking for a creative Secondary Alternative Pathways Teacher to join our accomplished team starting August 2026.
Core Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Head of Inclusion on the development and scheduling of the Alternative Pathway curriculum.
- Partner with the Head of Inclusion on future initiatives for the Alternative Pathway within the school.
- Work with specialist subject teachers to adapt the curriculum for mainstream lessons.
- Maintain and oversee the IASEND assessment tracker for the Alternative Pathway.
- Coordinate with the Head of Inclusion and subject teachers regarding reporting systems for the Alternative Pathway.
- Collaborate with Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) and Learning Support case managers to design and manage ASDAN and Alternative Pathway resources.
- Internally review ASDAN student files for certification purposes.
- Facilitate professional development training for 1:1 Learning Support Assistants focused on ASDAN.
- Lead the implementation of ASDAN tasks and assignments.
- Coordinate closely with the Dubai ASDAN coordinator and the International Development coordinator to ensure effective integration, review, and moderation of ASDAN.
- Stay informed about national and international advancements in the ASDAN curriculum.
