About This Role

* Uphold and promote the ethos and standards of excellence as outlined in the GEMS Core Values.
* Deliver the prescribed curriculum with a thorough and current understanding of both curriculum and subject matter.
* Design and conduct engaging lessons that inspire students, utilizing suitable materials and classroom settings to accommodate various learning styles.
* Provide written evidence of planning and preparation when requested. Maintain comprehensive records of curriculum and yearly plans, attendance, teaching resources, assessment plans, and more.
* Ensure compliance with GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct at all times.
* Instruct students based on their individual needs, employing effective teaching strategies tailored to diverse abilities, including late entrants, ESL learners, those with lower academic skills, and gifted students.
* Assign and assess work, documenting and reporting on students’ academic growth, progress, and achievements, and utilize assessments to tailor the curriculum to each student's needs.
* Demonstrate proficiency in the use of media and technology within the classroom.
* Foster the overall progress and well-being of students, offering guidance on educational matters.
* Engage with external parties, such as Ministry of Education officials, when appropriate.
* Take part in appraisal and Performance Management processes, as well as Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
* Collaborate with colleagues in the creation and enhancement of teaching materials, resources, study courses, and pastoral arrangements.
* Participate in and, when relevant, lead co-curricular and extra-curricular initiatives within the school, fostering strong working relationships through active leadership and sharing of ideas, materials, and experiences.
* Monitor and ensure safe and appropriate behavior among students, implementing strategies that promote self-discipline and manage disruptive conduct.
* Exemplify and encourage cultural awareness and understanding while fostering a passion for learning.
* Assist in organizing and planning school events and functions, such as inter-house competitions, concerts, school plays, and prize days.
* Maintain regular communication with parents, promoting the GEMS philosophy and core values, and keep them informed about their children’s progress while respecting confidentiality regarding student information.
* Demonstrate commitment by exerting effort and energy beyond the standard workday when tasks demand additional dedication.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
