We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Primary Class Teacher and Maths Leader to join our team in August 2026. This essential leadership role within the primary department offers the opportunity to lead the teaching and learning of mathematics throughout the school while also managing your own classroom. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to improving mathematics standards and promoting a culture of high achievement, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide outstanding teaching in your assigned primary class, following the National Curriculum for England.
- Oversee the design and implementation of the maths curriculum across the primary phase.
- Foster a mastery-based approach and ignite enthusiasm for mathematics among both staff and students.
- Mentor and support colleagues to improve the quality of maths instruction and enhance student learning.
- Utilize data efficiently to monitor student progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Organize and lead maths enrichment activities, including competitions, themed days, and workshops for parents.
- Deliver customized professional development for staff to enhance their subject knowledge and teaching strategies.
- Ensure consistency in planning, assessment, and differentiation of mathematics across various year groups.
- Collaborate with senior leadership and contribute to the overall school improvement plans.
- Maintain open lines of communication with parents and the wider school community.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree in Education (B.Ed.) or a PGCE with QTS.
- A minimum of 4 years of teaching experience, including recent work with the UK curriculum.
- A proven track record of positively influencing student progress, particularly in mathematics.
- Experience in a middle leadership role, ideally as a subject or phase leader.
- A thorough understanding of maths mastery principles and primary mathematics curriculum development.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational abilities.
- ADEK approval or eligibility is an advantage.
