About This Role

Job Purpose

To establish a well-structured and disciplined atmosphere within the elementary school while providing instructional leadership for the school’s programs.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the school.
  • Monitor students at all times when school facilities are available to them.
  • Teach students about the proper care and maintenance of school property.
  • Notify parents immediately about any significant violations of duty or school policies by their child.
  • Encourage teamwork and collaboration among the staff members.
  • Support the professional growth of staff.
  • Supervise, assist, and evaluate all teachers and support personnel in accordance with SNA Marianapolis’s guidelines.
  • Counsel the Head of School on hiring, promotion, probation, or dismissal of teachers whose performance is unsatisfactory.
  • Assign tasks to the Assistant Principal, Heads of Departments, Lead Teachers, and Counselors.
  • Ensure proper oversight and management of school activities sanctioned by the Head of School.
  • Collaborate with the Head of School in building strong relationships with local residents, businesses, and community organizations.
  • Assign students to their respective classrooms.
  • Allocate suitable areas for student lunch and prayer.
  • Work with the Registrar to enroll students and keep accurate daily attendance in accordance with the Head of School's instructions.
  • Create and maintain detailed records for each student as outlined by the Head of School.
  • Develop a school timetable, manage the school schedule, and make sure the calendar is accessible to students, parents, and the Head of School, along with assigning classes and subjects to teachers.
  • Promote students as appropriate, subject to the Head of School’s review, and provide each student with a related statement.
  • Ensure that all student textbooks are approved by the Head of School.
  • Keep current course outlines for all subjects offered at the school.
  • Provide course outlines for parent review upon request.
  • Supply the Head of School with relevant information regarding the school’s status, student discipline, academic performance, and any other matters affecting the school’s interests, along with necessary reports.
  • Attend to students’ health and comfort by ensuring cleanliness, appropriate temperature, and ventilation in the school, as well as the care of teaching materials and the general condition of school property.
  • Promptly report any suspected cases of infectious diseases or unsanitary conditions to the Head of School and the school nurse.
  • Deny admission or temporarily exclude anyone suspected of having or being exposed to communicable diseases.
  • Perform additional tasks, responsibilities, and duties as directed by the Head of School.

Education

  • A Master’s degree along with a minimum of three years of full-time experience in a certified position is required.

Specific Knowledge, Experience

  • Proficiency in problem-solving, data collection, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or graphical form while handling various abstract and concrete variables.
