About This Role

  • Role: Design and Technology Technician- Temporary up to 1 year
  • Full time/Part time: Term Time Only
  • Working Hours: 36 hours per week 08:30am-4.30pm (Monday-Friday)
  • Salary Grade: NJC Scale 4, SP7 to SP10 (currently £28,346 to £29,591 per annum)
  • Reporting to: Head of Visual Arts and Design Technology
  • Commencing: September 2026

Applications are invited for a highly organised, knowledgeable and suitably qualified Technician to join our large, friendly and successful Design and Technology department at Burntwood School - an Academy for Girls. Working under the direction and guidance of the Head of Visual Arts and Design Technology. The successful candidate will provide a high level of technical and administrative support to the subject areas of 3D/Product Design, Textiles, Graphics and Food Technology in large and extremely well-equipped facilities.

This role is crucial to the effective delivery of our broad and creative curriculum and the two Technicians (Art and DT) are key members of a highly collaborative and supportive team.

The ability and commitment to work both independently and as part of a team with a flexible and versatile approach is essential to this demanding and varied role. Compensation

£30,000 - £46,525 (MPS/UPS Scale)
