About This Role

Job Overview
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Cluster Arabic and Islamic Lead to join the GEMS Education schools in the UAE. The chosen candidate will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of Arabic and Islamic education across the cluster by developing, implementing, and assessing targeted action plans that align with the cluster’s strategic objectives. The goal is to enhance student performance and enrich their experience in Arabic and Islamic classes. The ideal candidate should be flexible, thrive in challenging situations, and possess a strong history of exemplary practice. As the Cluster Lead for Arabic and Islamic, you will collaborate closely with Heads of Department to establish a clear vision and direction for Arabic and Islamic education, with a strong emphasis on student achievement and progress.

Key Responsibilities:
• Propel enhancements in teaching, learning, assessment, and curriculum planning based on best practices.
• Develop, support, and oversee the execution of action plans at both the cluster and individual school levels.
• Create and facilitate professional development sessions to improve teaching and learning methodologies, as well as coach and monitor the application of these new strategies.
• Work in partnership with other school departments to ensure that practices in the Arabic and Islamic areas are consistent with best practices from other sections of the school whenever possible.
• Ensure the implementation of robust assessment methods and effective utilization of data in Arabic and Islamic studies.
• Guarantee that the team establishes effective documentation and evidence-gathering processes.
• Assist school leadership in conducting performance evaluations for teachers and heads of departments.
• Aid school leadership in preparing for inspections (including SEF writing, “mock” inspections, etc.).
• Develop strategies to boost parental engagement throughout the cluster.
• Ensure schools are effectively leveraging digital tools and platforms.
• Confirm that schools comply with teacher recruitment and curriculum standards.
• Participate in the teacher recruitment process through interviews and demonstration lessons as required.

Job Requirements
1- Bachelor’s degree in Arabic language, Islamic Studies, or Education / Master’s degree in Education (preferred).
2- Minimum of 5 years of relevant leadership experience (such as head of department, pedagogy coach, or equivalent).
3- At least 3 years of teaching experience.
4- Proven experience in providing training and coaching support to teams.
5- Demonstrated record of positive impact on Arabic and/or Islamic education improvement within a school.
6- Experience as a member of a senior leadership team (preferred).

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
*Estimated range based on regional data averages.
