About This Role

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Subject Teacher who has a strong foundation in private or international education. This position entails providing outstanding instruction, fostering student development, and playing a key role in the academic achievements of the school.

The ideal candidate will have prior teaching experience in an international or private school environment, possess a PGCE, QTS, or a U.S. teaching certificate, and demonstrate a high level of expertise in their subject area. Familiarity with international curricula such as AL, AP, and IGCSE is highly advantageous.

Locations Available: Shenzhen, Shanghai

Key Responsibilities

Planning, Teaching, and Class Management

  • Conduct up to 25 lessons weekly. Should teaching hours be insufficient, the school may allocate other appropriate responsibilities, and teachers are expected to approach these tasks with a professional attitude and cooperation.
  • Prepare lesson plans, PowerPoint presentations, classroom observation records, and any other necessary instructional materials.
  • Maintain positive student behavior and discipline in the classroom, engaging with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) when required.
  • Strive for continuous improvement in teaching quality and uphold high academic standards.
  • Participate in regular academic and school meetings.
  • Fulfill assigned evening duties as needed.

Tracking, Assessment, Recording, and Reporting

  • Assess, monitor, and track student performance, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
  • Create, assign, and grade homework, quizzes, and various assessments.
  • Organize and evaluate exams, analyze results, and compile performance reports.
  • Engage in academic research and take part in departmental meetings.
  • Encourage open communication with parents to keep them updated on student progress.

Activities

  • Plan and manage student activities, including open classes, festive performances, and campus decorations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to co-host and assist with school events as necessary.
  • Guide and support students in school-level, national, or international competitions.
  • Lead at least one extracurricular activity or club.
  • Assist with student admissions events and promotional initiatives.
  • Work in conjunction with the University Counseling Department (e.g., writing recommendation letters, supporting academic competitions, study tours, etc.).
  • Collaborate with the Pastoral Department to support House events, Duke of Edinburgh (DoE) programs, and other student development initiatives.

Others

  • Carry out additional duties as assigned by the Line Manager and Principal.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • At least 3-5 years of teaching experience in a relevant subject area.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in a related discipline.
  • PGCE, QTS, or U.S. teaching certificate is essential.
  • Strong comprehension of international curriculum frameworks.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and teamwork abilities.
  • A genuine passion for student-centered education and innovative teaching methods.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
