Opportunity:
We are looking for a Grade 1 Homeroom Teacher who is dedicated to inspiring young learners and enhancing their foundational academic skills through the IB PYP framework. As a Grade 1 Homeroom Teacher, you will play a vital role in navigating students through a pivotal phase of their educational journey, fostering curiosity, and assisting their academic and personal growth while they engage with the PYP framework.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Possess a recognized teaching qualification along with relevant experience in primary education
- Have experience or a strong commitment to working within the IB PYP framework, and a desire to expand their knowledge in inquiry-based learning
- Exhibit excellent classroom management skills, establishing a constructive environment where students feel secure and engaged
- Be enthusiastic about nurturing essential academic skills such as reading, writing, and numeracy in young learners
- Demonstrate a commitment to differentiating instruction to accommodate the diverse needs of all students, including those with learning differences
- Be a native-level English speaker or show near-native proficiency
- Be adaptable, collaborative, and eager to contribute to a dynamic and evolving school culture
- Integrate technology in impactful ways to enrich student inquiry and learning
- Have experience with students from various cultural and linguistic backgrounds, promoting an inclusive classroom setting
- Participate in school-wide events, after-school programs, school clubs, and collaborative meetings to support the school community
