About This Role

ROLE SUMMARY:

King's College School, Cascais, a distinguished member of the Inspired Education Group, stands as a premier international school in the Lisbon region. We deliver a comprehensive education through the Cambridge International curriculum until Year 10, complemented by a bilingual Portuguese–English programme until Year 5. Our dedication to academic excellence and holistic student development equips learners for success at leading universities around the globe.

We are on the lookout for a passionate and highly competent Head of Geography to join our team in the upcoming academic year. This presents a thrilling chance to lead an expanding department and influence the Geography curriculum throughout the Senior School. We especially encourage candidates with experience teaching Environmental Systems and Societies (ESS) in the International Baccalaureate programme to apply. The Head of Geography will also manage the engaging Global Perspectives course that we offer in Key Stage 3 alongside Geography for select students, following the Cambridge Lower Secondary curriculum.

In this role, you will provide inspiring Geography lessons that foster analytical thinking, geographical literacy, and a genuine curiosity about the world. As the Head of Department, you will spearhead curriculum development, support your colleagues, and actively participate in the broader academic and pastoral aspects of school life. Being part of the Inspired global network means you will have access to supportive colleagues and extensive professional development opportunities.

Additionally, you may wish to consider attending our in-person Inspired Careers Event in London on Saturday, January 24, 2026. This event will feature our school along with over 30 other UK and international Inspired schools aiming to connect with teachers seeking new roles starting August 2026.
