Your Responsibilities as a Secondary Art Teacher
At Newton, teaching Art transcends mere technique; it involves guiding students in cultivating their creativity, critical thinking, and appreciation for culture and self-expression.
You will:
Create engaging and inspiring lessons aligned with the British curriculum
Encourage creativity and innovation through both practical and theoretical approaches
Assist students in honing their technical skills and developing their unique artistic styles
Foster critical thinking and reflection through the study of art history and contemporary practices
Participate in curriculum development and enrichment programs
Support student wellbeing through strong pastoral care and the establishment of positive relationships
What We Are Looking For
We are searching for educators who possess:
A minimum of 5 years of experience teaching Art within the British curriculum
A Bachelor’s degree in Art, Art Education, or a related discipline (Master’s degree preferred)
A recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
A passion for student-centered, inclusive education
Excellent communication skills and strong classroom management abilities
A commitment to ongoing professional development and personal growth
