Position Overview:
1. Specialisation in Media & Film Studies:
• Media and Film Knowledge: A comprehensive grasp of media theory, film history, and modern practices is essential for delivering an engaging curriculum.
• Curriculum Development: Skill in designing, executing, and refining an innovative media curriculum that captivates and challenges students.
• Facilitate the IB Diploma Film course, encouraging independent and creative filmmaking while ensuring students achieve technical proficiency.
• Create a classroom atmosphere that nurtures student creativity, critical thinking, and project-based learning.
• Inspire students' passion for media and film, motivating them to explore and express their ideas artistically.
• Collaborate with colleagues to enrich the curriculum and exchange best practices.
2. Specialisation in Art/Visual Art:
• Proven proficiency and expertise in at least two art-making disciplines (e.g., drawing, printmaking, photography, digital art).
• A solid foundation in traditional techniques (e.g., oil painting, stenciling, mixed media) along with proficiency in digital software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).
• Ability to merge digital tools with traditional art techniques to develop a well-rounded and evolving art curriculum.
• Guide students through the exploration of art techniques and the progression of their ideas across all year levels.
• Actively demonstrate techniques and facilitate art-making processes, ensuring clarity and keeping students engaged.
• Consistently adjust teaching methods and units to reflect the evolving visual arts landscape, ensuring the curriculum remains relevant and creative.
General Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Education or any subject with a Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma in Education (PGCE/PGDE).
• Familiarity with the MYP and the foundational concepts of the curriculum frameworks is beneficial.
• Newly qualified teachers or those with teaching experience from a recognized educational institution.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The iPGCE (assessment only) does not qualify for Teacher Registration status from the Hong Kong Education Bureau, a necessary requirement for teaching at an ESF school.
