ELIS Villamartín is a growing institution focused on advancement, ongoing professional development (CPD), and promoting a healthy work-life balance.

At ELIS Villamartín, our goal is to provide an exceptional education within a supportive atmosphere. The school has seen consistent growth in recent years, offering a curriculum aligned with the National Curriculum for England and Wales, including IGCSE and A-Level courses, as well as the Spanish Baccalaureate programme. The British Council has accredited El Limonar International School Villamartín to operate as a British curriculum institution in Spain, following evaluations by the National Association of British Schools in Spain (NABSS).

Additionally, ELIS Villamartín is recognized by the Spanish Ministry of Education and serves as an authorized examination center for Cambridge International Examinations, Pearson Edexcel, and AQA assessments. Being part of the Cognita Schools Group's European division, many educators who relocate to our area often choose to stay because of its exceptional quality of life, which includes pleasant weather, rich cultural offerings, sports, cuisine, and a friendly community (there’s truly something for everyone!).

We are currently seeking a talented Upper School French Teacher to join our exceptional team.

About Cognita:
Cognita is a prominent global leader in independent education. Founded in 2004, we encompass a growing network of 90 schools across 21 countries, including Europe, North America, Latin America, Asia, and the Middle East, serving over 100,000 students. Each school possesses its unique identity, yet we share a common vision of creating an environment where everyone can "Thrive in a rapidly evolving world."

At Cognita, we celebrate the individuality of every student. We nurture their distinct personalities and strengths while supporting their academic, social, and emotional development, regardless of their starting point or location. Each of our schools has its own unique character.

This personalized approach enables every school, educator, and student to thrive in their strengths and achieve excellence.

About the Role:
We are looking for a committed and skilled Upper School French Teacher to join our lively international community at ELIS Villamartín. This is a wonderful opportunity to spearhead the French program across Key Stages 2, 3, 4, and 5, inspiring students' creativity, enhancing their confidence, and guiding them toward academic achievement.

This is a permanent, full-time position with an anticipated start date in September 2026.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide engaging, high-quality French lessons to students aged 9–18, preparing them for IGCSE, A-Level, and DELF examinations.
• Use assessment and feedback effectively: Utilize assessment data to monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback, and establish improvement goals.
• Incorporate the ELIS Villamartín Values — Respect, Care, Perseverance, Honesty, and Kindness — into all aspects of teaching, learning, and the wider school community.
• Track student progress through assessment data, offering timely support and challenges to help each individual reach their full potential.
• Promote student wellbeing and resilience, contributing to the implementation of the Cognita Be Well Charter.
• Actively participate in the wider school community through co-curricular activities, events, and enrichment opportunities.

Who We Are Looking For:
• A degree and a recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE or equivalent).
• Proven experience in teaching French at the secondary school level, with a track record of preparing students for external examinations.
• A commitment to holistic education, fostering both the academic and personal development of every student.
• Enthusiasm, creativity, and a growth mindset that inspires both students and colleagues.
• A collaborative and flexible approach, with excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
