About This Role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver captivating, age-appropriate lessons in ICT, Computing, and STEM in English for students in Years 1–6, aligned with the school’s adapted IPC curriculum;
  • Teach students essential programming principles and computational thinking using visual programming platforms such as ScratchJr, Scratch, Blockly, Tynker, and CoSpaces Edu;
  • Improve students' digital literacy by instructing them in typing, online research techniques, multimedia creation (e.g., Canva, iMovie, GarageBand), and internet safety practices;
  • Work collaboratively with classroom teachers and year-level teams to weave technology and STEM into interdisciplinary and themed learning modules;
  • Manage and upkeep the ICT suites, iPad/laptop carts, and robotics kits (e.g., Bee-Bot, LEGO WeDo, Micro:bit), in addition to other STEM materials and software;
  • Develop and implement both formative and summative assessments, monitor student development, and effectively relay outcomes to parents;
  • Lead at least one after-school club or co-curricular activity (CCA) each term centered on technology, coding, or robotics;
  • Assist in coordinating school-wide technology events such as Tech Week, coding contests, and workshops for parents;
  • Participate actively in school events, parent-teacher meetings, professional development sessions, and departmental gatherings as a key member of the school community.

Qualifications:

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Educational Technology, Primary Education, or a related field (a Master’s degree is preferred);
  • Certification: A valid teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, State License, or equivalent internationally), ideally with a focus on primary education;
  • Experience: At least 3 years of full-time teaching experience in primary ICT, Computing, or Digital Literacy; familiarity with IPC, Cambridge Primary, or IB PYP is highly desirable;
  • Skills: Proficient in visual programming tools (ScratchJr, Scratch, Blockly), robotics kits (Bee-Bot, LEGO WeDo, Micro:bit), and creative media applications (iMovie, GarageBand, Canva); experience in integrating technology into cross-curricular or transdisciplinary units is a significant plus;
  • A strong foundational understanding of computational thinking, digital citizenship, and effective pedagogical practices suitable for primary technology education;
  • Creative, patient, and skilled at inspiring young learners through play-based, inquiry-driven, and project-based teaching methods;
  • Capable of managing ICT resources, such as device carts, robotics kits, and software licenses, showcasing excellent organizational skills and accountability;
  • A genuine passion for educating young children and a commitment to continuous professional growth.

Compensation
