Slate Falls, ON, School Principal - Elementary School - K8

The Principal is responsible for managing all aspects of the urban First Nation school. This position focuses on ensuring that students receive programming and support that addresses their unique educational, emotional, social, cultural, and physical needs. The Principal will also guarantee adherence to all applicable provincial licensing and curricular standards. Building and maintaining collaborative partnerships with community organizations that interact with the school is crucial. Additional duties may be assigned by the employer as necessary.

Qualifications

• Candidates must hold a Bachelor of Arts/Science along with a Bachelor of Education, or alternatively, a Bachelor of Education or a diploma in an Aboriginal Education program.
• It is required to have completed Parts 1 and 2 of the “Principal’s Qualification Program,” or candidates must show commitment to finishing these within a two-year period.
• Membership in the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) is essential.
• Strong skills in management, planning, and organization are necessary.
• A comprehensive understanding of education systems, structures, and funding models is important, and previous experience in school administration is a significant advantage.
• A valid driver’s license is also required.
