Role Introduction

We are looking for a skilled educator to join our team as a Secondary History teacher at our school in Koh Samui. This is an exceptional opportunity to refine your teaching skills on one of Thailand's most picturesque islands while implementing a unique, results-focused teaching approach.

Main Duties

  • Significantly contribute to the school through various activities, including enrichment programs, the development of effective teaching strategies and curricula, implementing tailored interventions for individuals or groups, administering internal assessments, and participating in outreach initiatives;
  • Teach a diverse range of students, catering to different ages and abilities, providing challenges for advanced learners while also offering support to those who may find the subject challenging;
  • Engage in your own professional growth and development in partnership with our leadership team;
  • Comply with the school’s assessment and reporting guidelines, adhere to the teacher’s manual, and attend parent meetings as required;
  • Participate in the school’s co-curricular activities as coordinated with our leadership team;
  • Exhibit a strong commitment to the safeguarding of all students;
  • Offer tutoring to various student groups, demonstrating a genuine interest in their academic and personal growth;
  • Regularly assist with initiatives related to educational development or pastoral care, fostering relationships with students and supporting the school community.

The Ideal Candidate

You will be a reflective classroom teacher who:

  • holds a strong honours degree (2:1 or above) and/or a higher degree in a closely related field;
  • is passionate about their subject and possesses the knowledge to deliver engaging lessons to students of all ages and abilities at Panyadee (PBISS);
  • aligns with Panyadee (PBISS) holistic educational vision and is eager to contribute to both co-curricular and pastoral aspects of school life;
  • demonstrates strong interpersonal skills, enabling you to build relationships and collaborate effectively with a diverse group of individuals;
  • is committed to continuous professional development;
  • has a solid understanding of and commitment to the principles of equality, diversity, and inclusion;
  • embraces advancements and innovations in teaching and learning, and is open to various assessment and differentiation strategies in the classroom;
  • is willing to share their educational practices with the school community and benefit from collaborative teaching experiences;
  • respects the confidentiality of intellectual property, privacy, and the work of school stakeholders, including colleagues who share their teaching methodologies;
  • exhibits proficiency in ICT and is eager to utilize various technologies for educational purposes;

  • is highly motivated and can work independently as well as part of a team;
  • is genuinely invested in the welfare and pastoral care of students;
  • has excellent oral and written communication skills;
