About This Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic, talented, and adaptable English teacher to become part of our team, beginning in August 2026. The perfect candidate will have the ability to inspire and engage students while adhering to the school's mission and values. We particularly encourage applicants with additional skills in Geography or History.

Full-time position for a duration of two years, with the possibility of extension based on performance.

PERSONAL SPECIFICATION

I. QUALIFICATION

Essential: A Bachelor's Degree in a related field.

Desirable: PGCE / QTS or an equivalent qualification.

II. EXPERIENCE

Candidates should demonstrate:

• A minimum of two years of teaching experience in either a UK or international school.

• Proven experience teaching IGCSE English.

III. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Essential: The ideal candidate should exhibit:

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Teach English at the IGCSE level.

• Contribute to enhancing teaching quality within the English department and the broader school by sharing resources, observing lessons, mentoring, and engaging in continuous professional development.

• Promote and ensure the welfare of children.

• Support the school’s teaching and learning objectives.

• Plan and prepare lessons and courses.

• Deliver instruction tailored to the specific educational needs of assigned students.

• Assign and assess student work, including internal examinations.

• Monitor and document student progress and achievements in accordance with school policy.

• Set suitably challenging targets for students.

• Ensure that students requiring learning support receive effective assistance in following their Individual Education Plans.

• Organize assessments and examinations as necessary.

• Write reports as required.

• Foster a love for learning and a desire for knowledge among students.

• Collaborate with colleagues to plan lessons, exchange ideas, and share professional insights.

• Stay updated with information from the Head of Department and subject developments, contributing curriculum knowledge to the department.

• Keep informed about international educational research.

GENERAL NOTES
