About This Role

NACIS Shanghai is in search of several Secondary English Teachers to elevate the quality of teaching and learning in Secondary English and Literature.

The School:

Founded in September 2016, NACIS Shanghai offers a stimulating, challenging, and rewarding educational environment for its students. We welcome learners aged 6 to 18 to join our vibrant, internationally-focused school community. Our distinctive bilingual, blended learning approach concludes with the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme and A-level Programme. Situated in the Minhang District of Shanghai, our school features cutting-edge facilities that support our progressive educational philosophy.

Our teaching staff consists of professionals from ten different countries, with notable representation from China, the UK, Ireland, and North America.

The Role:

We seek a number of qualified Secondary English Teachers to become part of our team. Your responsibilities will include:

- Delivering a blended English curriculum for Grades 6 to 8, IGCSE for Grades 9 and 10, or A-level/IBDP, with specific grade assignments based on your curriculum expertise.

- Exhibiting thorough curriculum knowledge while being flexible in teaching various aspects of the English curriculum within the department.

- Ensuring that planning, preparation, instruction, assessment, and reporting align with student needs and the school's standards.

- Establishing high expectations for student achievement by crafting engaging learning experiences that align with our Secondary curriculum and promoting a culture of limitless potential.

- Fostering a respectful classroom environment that encourages inquiry and dialogue.

- Actively engaging in broader school development and growth initiatives.

The Successful Candidate will Possess:

- Qualified Teacher Status along with three to four years of experience teaching Secondary English and Literature.

- A solid grasp of effective teaching and learning theories, with the ability to address the diverse needs of all students through classroom organization, differentiation, and learning strategies.

- A PGCE/QTS or a nationally recognized teaching license.

- A degree in English Language and Literature is preferred.

- A collaborative attitude and adaptability.

About You:

You will be enthusiastic about collaborating and sharing your expertise, acting as an exemplary representative of the school. Your strong communication skills will allow you to engage effectively with diverse audiences, building solid relationships with parents and students. You will adjust quickly to our dynamic international environment while meeting the visa requirements for China, which include holding a bachelor’s degree, having a clean criminal background check, and possessing a minimum of 24 months of teaching experience.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
